For a few days, I found myself busy with socializing and running around. I didn’t hit my step goals on these days but I maintained my “no sweets” rule. Sunday came along and I was just done. I needed a brain reset as I like to call it.

What did I do to accomplish this?…………

I removed my Garmin watch and put it on the charger. I wasn’t going to count my steps as I knew I wasn’t going to hit my minimum goal. I took a large glass of water and my kindle and went outside Into my dining tent.

I sat out here all afternoon, occasionally going into the house to grab a snack. I read and entire book on my kindle that day. It was so nice to just sit alone outside enjoying the sun and peaceful sounds of nature while losing myself into the world of my book.

Monday morning I got up and put back on my watch. I was now back on track and feeling better than ever. I felt refreshed and it was a new start to my week. I felt rested and back to myself.

Taking a time out from everyday life is important. Whether it is for a full day, like my Sunday, or even just a few hours. Remember to prioritize yourself and your mental health because you are important. We are all worth taking sometime to just sit in the quiet, however that looks for you. Everybody’s reset will look differently and that’s okay.
